I'm Celeste Spiers, founder and Head of School. I am a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) and Qualified Instructor (CALT-QI). I have been providing therapy directly to students in the Dallas area for over twenty years, and training teachers to be dyslexia therapists for over a decade
I am a passionate lifelong advocate for education, and founded Hope Academy for Dyslexia because I wanted to provide the best environment for my students to flourish. I'm also the parent of a student with dyslexia, and my practice has only improved with the experience of being her mom.
Our school is small, and one of the best aspects is the lifelong relationships we form with our students and their families. Nothing makes me happier than when a parent who feared their child would never learn to read reaches out to proudly tell me about their student's latest accomplishment!
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary, we are also facing new challenges. Rising costs mean we are seeking the capacity to offer further financial assistance to our families; we've never turned a child away and we don't want to start now.
With so many changes, there are more opportunities than ever to partner with us and ensure that we are able to continue offering highly specialized education to students with dyslexia. If you would like more information, please contact us at info@hopefordyslexia.org or consider donating today.
“This has been the most life-giving experience for my child! My child has received far more than an education. Celeste has worked with her on her days and on her rough days and she ALWAYS comes out with a huge smile on her face. I am so thankful for Celeste and Hope Academy for Dyslexia. The investment that has been given has blown me out of the water and I can’t say enough amazing things!”
“My daughter’s love for school has returned and most importantly her panic attacks stopped after enrolling her in Hope Academy for Dyslexia. I am so thankful for Hope Academy for bringing joy to my daughter, boosting her confidence, and for teaching her how to read in the 5th grade.”
“I have noticed a lot of improvement with my child’s reading and confidence overall. My child wants to stay at Hope Academy for Dyslexia where he feels comfortable and actually enjoys going to school.”
“My child is happy, patient, and is no longer frustrated and she’s only been at Hope Academy for Dyslexia for two months”
“Our son began attending Hope since he came to join our family in 2016. He has had a rough go of it. He was born addicted to methamphetamines and spent most of his life in and out of foster care. We will never know for certain how his exposure to drugs has impacted him. But at this point we know he is color blind, has sensory processing disorder, is dyslexic, and has ADHD. The therapists at Hope Academy have been patient and endlessly supportive. When my husband was laid off in November, we immediately withdrew him from the program due to financial reasons, but Hope Academy continued his therapy.”
